My name is Haley Marie de Charmoy, I am a 37 year old full time mom of two beautiful boys ages 4 and 6.  Life changed drastically for us 4 years ago when we adopted our two boys. Our story is one I love to tell –

This blog is part personal and part professional – life will never be business as usual again and I am so grateful for that!

I closed my (7 day per week trade) coffee shop / bakery business after close to 8 years in the trade in January 2015 and have slowly moved back into a space I had forgotten exists.  A place where you can make time for yourself to be healthy, time for yourself to be happy (I actually have a real hobby that is not my job) and still have plenty of time for your family and enough time for your friends. I have learned that:

doing less meaningless  work, so that you can focus on things of greater personal importance, is NOT laziness. This is hard for us to accept because our culture tends to reward personal sacrifice instead of personal productivity. Timothy Ferriss

I have no intentions to open another business anytime soon (my husband could not afford it –  😉 but I would like to do some freelance work here and there and problem solve in all the ways that I enjoy AND I would also like to earn some extra cash to pay for my delightful and rather expensive hobby – Maverick, (the horse I wanted since I was 5 years old.) They say anything that eats while you sleep is going to cost you and they were NOT joking!

After years of repetitive work, you will often have to dig hard to find your passions, redefine your dreams, and revive hobbies that you let atrophy to near extinction. The goal is not to simply eliminate the bad, which does nothing more that leave you with a vacuum, but to pursue and experience the best in the world. Timothy Ferriss

I am proud to say my new job titles are: Stay at home mom, busy wife to very high maintenance husband 😉 daughter, sister, personal shopper, driver, nurse, chef, cheerleader, holiday planner, rental agent/house swapper, family photographer, videographer, event planner, freelancer and the ever present personal assistant to 3 very demanding bosses.  So basically I have joined the ranks of all you stay at home mom/domestic rockstars I heard Opera talking about over all the years and I think I need to get me an invitation to one of those shows where she gives a way a whole lot of stuff!!!

My boys inspire me to be better and do better and never to sacrifice my joy in the process. I LOVE to help others to do the same.  Time is precious – so stay inspired and use it wisely. Surround yourself with people who add value to your life and focus your energy on living each day to the fullest.
